About Us: The Story Behind the Art

The idea for this shop started on the other side of the world. While backpacking extensively through Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, I noticed travellers sewing flag patches onto their bags to mark the countries they had visited. Those simple flags were incredible icebreakers, they opened the door to instantly walking up to strangers, swapping stories, and making friends along the journey. However, I realised that a simple national flag didn't fully capture the magic of those places. Having painted with watercolours my whole life, I believed that the iconic sights and landmarks travellers had actually experienced would resonate much deeper with their memories. I wanted to create highly detailed, beautiful conversation starters.

What began as a way to channel my lifelong love of art into a practical business has since grown into a collection of over 300 unique destination designs. I run this shop entirely on my own from the UK, and every single piece starts the exact same way: with a paintbrush. I watercolour the designs from reference pictures or directly on-site, and then bring them into Adobe Illustrator to refine the details so they translate perfectly into patches, pins, and stickers. Since launching in 2020, I have been incredibly proud to send over 62,000 orders to fellow travellers across the globe.
